“Speak To Us Of Children”
by Poet, Philosopher Kahlil Gibran 1883 – 1931
video created by Mary Robinson Reynolds and Craig Reynolds
And a woman who held her babe against her bosom said:
“Speak to us of children!”
And he said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you, but not from you, And though they are with you, Yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love,
But not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls.
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
Which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
But seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward, Nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
And He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow which flies,
So He loves also the bow which is stable.

Some people go through life trying to find out what the world holds for them only to find out too late that it's what they bring to the world that really counts." – Anne of Green Gables
In today's fast-paced world, it can be easy to lose sight of what's important…
No, wait. I take that back.
It's not really about our world being fast-paced, is that as we get older, WE become fast-paced.
It seems that as a child we intuitively knew the simple things that made life amazing… and as adults, it sometimes feel like we have so much to do, so much to be, so much to have… so much so that we need reminders of what it is like to live in a more present, aware, conscious, fulfilling way.
We all need reminders to bring us back to our true selves, and today I have a gift to help you do exactly that. It's an insightful, touching, heartwarming and thought-provoking motivational video called "The Seven Wonders."

Integrity—more than simple honesty, it's the key to success.
Quote
by Zig Ziglar
With integrity you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing to hide. With integrity you will do the right thing, so you will have no guilt. With fear and guilt removed you are free to be and do your best.
In Integrity, Dr. Cloud explores the six qualities of character that define integrity, and how people with integrity:
Are able to connect with others and build trust
Are oriented toward reality
Finish well
Embrace the negative
Are oriented toward increase
Have an understanding of the transcendent
Integrity is not something that you either have or don't, but instead is an exciting growth path that all of us can engage in and enjoy.
How to live your life with integrity,
Keep your promises even if that means effort.
Never betray a friends trust.
Be loyal to partner.
Do not talk badly of others.
Return money or wallet that you noticed someone dropped without expecting a reward.
Ignore advice from someone who gives you advice on how to cheat on your taxes.
do not let someone take the blame for something you did.
Remember, understanding the actions caused by integrity starts with knowing what is important and holding fast to that idea, even when it is not convenient or to your benefit.
Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.” - W. Clement Stone
I am also a confident, Self-supporting woman who marches to my own beat. I may not look like a model who just walked off the cover of a magazine but i know I scrub up well. I love to wear sexy, smart clothes. I am not afraid to try new things, have no inhibitions, and it takes a lot to shock me
This board reflects :
Words and pictures that speak to me,
Words and pictures that I relate to,
Words and pictures that describe the way I see myself and my way of thinking.
There are also some pins I have added that offer some advice to which I want to remember in the future.
So I share with you Pins taken from the above board and from
I speak with honesty, I think with Sincerity and I Act with integrity.
I believe that if we do not speak truthfully and honestly we are not living a soulful life. instead we are living in fear of being found out, relying on our memory not to fail in the lies we have told. If you tell the truth you have nothing to remember. I have made mistakes in my life through immaturity, ego, lack of knowledge, and ignorance. I am now at an age and have enough intelligence to know that on Judgement day there would be no reason to justify living a life of Dishonesty so I choose to live My life with honesty, and integrity. This is something I pride myself on. I can honestly say that I Can't think of a single person that I currently know that hasn't lied or deceived me. In my experience I find that people who live their life by dishonesty are usually very pessimistic in their view of life and others
I do love life, but it hasn't always been this way. I do count my blessings each day as I have a lot to be grateful for. I love my mind, I love to inspire others and help others on Journey of Self Discovery. I love New friends, from near and afar, I love who I have become, the challenges I have overcome And the insight I have into my Own weaknesses and Imperfections that I am working on daily.I am open minded, not judgemental, and love to be around people who are intelligent and can help me on the path of my inner self- discovery seeing me in a way that I do not see myself.
If I can't so someone a good turn, I certainly won't do them a bad turn. My conscience
would not allow me to. I was brought up following the ten commandments and I think if people followed these rules, life would be more peaceful and the world would be a friendlier place.
I hate the part of me that doubts and mistrusts others, but through many things forced upon me by others it has left me with these negative views on life.
I have always believed that there is good in everyone all you need to do is look for it. But it isn't that easy when faced with People who have Narcissistic personalities or are alcohol or drug dependent.
My inner perfectionist is astonished at the literary mistakes, grammatical and punctuation errors that I have made in the above article but I am trying to share parts of myself in a short article as an introduction in words to who I am without the perfectionist part of me taking over.
I am independent, creative, artistic, poetic and love literature and words. If you check out my boards you will see I have a wide range of interests, ranging from Art, Crafting, D.I.Y, Books, Quotes and words. I love Faces, portraits, eyes and lips and creative nails. I love boots and masks. Although I do believe we should never hide behind a mask but show our authentic selves, But each of us puts on different masks throughout the day hiding parts of ourselves we are not ready to show or reveal to others.
I like my Country and western board because it reminds me of good times
(and the one who got away,)but remained a true and faithful friend even though 20+ years have passed us by. My favourite music and my line dancing days with my ex- hubby.
I am a free spirit who like my own space but also likes company, I do my best, I love with all my heart and soul. I am hard working, creative and unique.
this board then leads to places I would love to visit and my dream place would be JAPAN
I have been interested in the
Japanese culture since I was 12 years old following a school trip to china town. London
The closest I have come to visiting the orient is a three-week trip to Hong Kong
The next set of boards shares my interest in
Photography and my wide range of interests amongst these
boards like
My love of animals
,Astronomy,
Sunsets and sunrises,
the moon, and
the rain.
I also love the four seasons, especially Autumn.
The breathtaking beauty of Nature,
the sea, and
Waterfalls
My love of Birds especially Birds of prey. -( that is Eagles and Owls)
I love all wild cats,
foxes,
wolves,
monkeys
and snakes.
I love interior design and I
love to decorate my home with beautiful things. I have a passion for things of an aesthetic and mystical nature.
I like my home to reflect who I am, my interests and uniqueness.
For example -
My kitchen is silver and black and I did have a Harley Davidson theme.
My sitting room had an Egyptian theme
and My passageway had a gothic/Dragon theme.
My bathroom is Nautical
and My bedroom is Oriental.
My office/craft room has a Me to you bear theme and contains over 400 ceramic Tatty bears
But I am bored with these themes and Now I want to get rid of my materialistic home and have a home that is minimalistic. I felt more at peace without the clutter and the high maintenance
home in which I have found myself currently living in.
My son used to have a Bart Simpson theme bedroom before it changed to a
gothic style that lasted for a short time. He then left home
I collect Swarovski crystal because of its beauty class and elegance
my two favourite pieces of my collection.
I have a passion for music, poetry, performance and visual arts
Besides being a fantastic poet who shares his romantic thoughts, he also shares his struggles through life and overcoming his demons through the words of poetry. I love his poetry and what a hunk. I love the way he describes the beauty of a woman.
Besides searching for the truth, My purpose on this earth and my true calling I am also searching for a Male companion who always lives his life with honesty and integrity. I would like him to also be sincere, truthful. respectful, intelligent, kind, and be able to make me laugh.
I want a man who knows how to maintain a healthy relationship, loves women and is prepared to let me support him on his journey. And I would like him to support me on mine. I want a man that follows his heart and not easily talked out what he wants by his friends and family. I want a man who will listen to advise from others but decides his own destiny. I want a man who is emotionally strong as a future plan on how he sees his life and is willing to take a risk or two.
Kiss Me Passionately, Kiss me like you mean it!
I want a man who is a giver as well as a receiver. I don't want a relationship that is one sided and the guy just drains me emotionally, physically and spiritually. I want a man who can love me and help me to become a better me. I want a man who is passionate in the bedroom and isn't afraid to explore or talk about his fantasies with me. I want someone who can also express his fears and dreams.
I want to be his best friend and he mine, and I want to be able to talk about everything and anything and he shares a genuine interest as talk until the early communicating sharing and listening
He must have family values or at least understand the importance of family as My Sons, and my Grandson is the reason for my existence. I can't imagine Living if I did not have these Men (and baby) in my life.
I know I exist separate to my lads but through their lives, I have hope and a vision Of a wonderful future with happy memories to be made and knowledge I can pass on.
I would like him to be optimistic, love life children, animals and me. Get on with my boys and show them respect as I would expect my boys to show my future partner the same courtesy
I am a caregiver by nature. I am warm, loving and person. i am kind. I am Compassionate. I care. I love. I am sensitive. I hurt. I have feelings. I am service oriented and have a desire to please and make people happy. Sadly some people take my kindness as a weakness and think they can walk all over me. I am very patient and can tolerate a lot but a time will come when I can see clearly that I am only of use if I am giving and they are taking and that is when it is time for me to walk away. It is because of my caregiving personality that I followed the career path into helping the aged, teaching adults with learning difficulties and teaching children. I was also a manageress of a hotel that housed the homeless
I am trustworthy. I respect others choices in life, their views and opinions. I am open minded, non- judgemental and will help anyone. But i won't tolerate being lied to, betrayed, or stolen from.
I don't hold grudges. Trust is everything to me as I believe that without trust you can't really have a friendship or relationship. I forgive as I know everyone has weaknesses and we are all human and make mistakes. I never forget. Do my children an injustice and our friendship will automatically end and We will go separate ways.
I have a great sense of humour and will make people laugh when their spirits are low. I am good at hiding how i feel if I can see someone needs cheering up.
I want someone who gets excited that there is mail in his email box from me, thinks about me when he is alone with his thoughts and feels happy, safe and loved when he thinks of me.
This is a little bit of information about me, the surface of me but like an onion, there are many layers to peel before you get to know the whole me.
An awesome test. It takes second to and the results are amazing.
My results said: You are self-assured and in charge. You are very independent. Your guiding principle in life is ‘I’ll do it my way.’. You are very self-reliant and know how to stay strong for yourself and the people you Love. You know exactly what you want and are not afraid of pursuing your dreams. The only thing you demand from people is honesty. You are strong enough to accept the truth.
If you know me or have read my profile you will know that I believe in living my life with truth, honesty and integrity.
Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us are special. Don't set your goals by what other people deem important. Only do what is best for you.
Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.
Don't let life slip through your fingers by living in the past or in the future. By living one day at a time you live all days of your life.
Don't give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is the fragile thread that binds us to each other.
Don't be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
Don't shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible. The fastest way to lose love is to hold to it tightly, and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Don't dismiss your dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope, to be without hope is to be without purpose.
Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.
Sometimes we think that to develop an open heart, to be truly loving and compassionate, means that we need to be passive, to allow others to abuse us, to smile and let anyone do what they want with us. Yet this is not what is meant by compassion. Quite the contrary. Compassion is not at all weak. It is the strength that arises out of seeing the true nature of suffering in the world. Compassion allows us to bear witness to that suffering, whether it is in ourselves or others, without fear; it allows us to name injustice without hesitation, and to act strongly, with all the skill at our disposal. To develop this mind state of compassion…is to learn to live, as the Buddha put it, with sympathy for all living beings, without exception. ― Sharon Salzberg, Lovingkindness: The Revolutionary Art of Happiness
As Sharon writes here, compassion is not something that we can afford to live without. It’s something that we all need to navigate in the world today. We need it for ourselves, our families, communities and the world. But, it does start with you. Without first developing compassion for ourselves, it can be a struggle to offer true compassion for others. We must first accept that we need it and be willing to incorporate compassion into our lives.
I believe that compassion can help us to transform our lives. Also, know that compassion can transform your resistance into openness and acceptance. Being open can help you to live a more fulfilled life, and living in this way can help to transform your world. We are all powerful. We all have a place. We help to build a better world when we utilize our compassion for the betterment of everyone. Having compassion is about accepting that you are part of a connected world. It’s about accepting that you are not alone. Your actions matter.
“My message is the practice of compassion, love and kindness. These things are very useful in our daily life, and also for the whole of human society these practices can be very important.” ~ Dalai Lama
I feel compassion is necessary for delving into your dreams or undergoing any kind of personal exploration. Dream analysis can bring up connected thoughts, emotions and memories. But, your dreams offer you a way to heal and transcend the past. With compassion we can allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough to approach our dreams.
“I have had dreams, and I have had nightmares. I overcame the nightmares because of my dreams.” ~ Jonas Salk, M D
Whether you perceive it as dream, nightmare or vision, your dream does have a message. Having compassion and a willingness to be vulnerable will give you the courage and stamina to approach your dream and be able to be curious about it. What does it want for you? What does it need from you? Dreams can bring both answers and questions. But, when we close our hearts to them, we toss away their insights. By opening your heart, being gentle with yourself, and approaching the dream with compassion you can finally communicate with your dreams. Your dreams offer wisdom, but you must be willing to open up to that wisdom.
The greatest distance in the existence of Man is not from here to there nor from there to here. Nay, the greatest distance in the existence of Man is from his mind to his heart. Unless he conquers that distance he can never learn to soar like an eagle and realize the immensity within. ~ Sandra Ingerman – ‘The Hollow Bone’
As Sandra says, it’s important to find a connection to our hearts. Compassion does that. It helps you to connect and communicate with your heart, so you can indeed soar. Having compassion, for yourself and others, is vital for self-acceptance, empathy and tolerance. Without self-acceptance it can be difficult to move past your perception of the initial message of your dream. We put up our shields and become invulnerable to the message that the dream brings. And, that’s probably when a dream seems like a nightmare. But, you can bring your hands to your heart, and ask, “What do I need to know?”
You may feel so frustrated by your first look at your dream, that it’s easy to feel powerless, confused or upset and just give up. But, although our dreams can be powerful allies they don’t speak in an easily understood language.
You may have to be patient and sit with your dream before its full meaning becomes clear. It might be a few days, or longer, before the full meaning comes to you. Having compassion will give you the capacity and willingness to more deeply explore the dream. Compassion will help you to endure the mystery of your dream.
How do you develop compassion? There are many ways you can use, and I’ll only name a few. You might have other techniques that work well for you. Work with whatever options are best for you. If you haven’t worked with any of these choices, then you can pick one or two and try them out. Work with your choice for a period of time and see how you feel.
Have a kindness practice / Pay it forward practice
In addition to these practices don’t forget about your dreams! Don’t give up on them. Keep working with them and recognize that they’re offering you valuable insights. But, be willing to be gentle on yourself. At times, our dreams may bring a message that is at first hard to hear. But, that can indicate that the wisdom it offers is especially important.
As you begin to open your heart, and look at your dreams with compassion, you may begin to see their message in a new light. You might recognize the dream is indicating that a habit or trait you’ve felt bad about has actually served you in some way. This can be a very powerful understanding, especially if you can use it to mend your life and grow, instead of being defeated by it. For instance, it is one thing to accept that you may have a tendency toward being critical or bossy person. However, it is another thing to use that knowledge to hinder yourself or your spiritual growth. Have compassion for yourself and look to how that trait might help you be an effective leader. Be willing to look at how your perceived weakness can be modified to serve something positive.
You actions do matter.
For myself, I’ve had dreams related to puzzle solving, which I’ve used to explore my need for structure. With compassion I’ve explored these dreams, and although it can be difficult, I’ve come to see that these dreams can show me how to let go of my need for control and have fun. Others may have similar issues. But, all dreams are unique to the individual. What I have come to see for myself is that by being willing to let go, I can approach problem solving from an entirely different perspective. Problem solving and a need structure aren’t bad. I can still look to bring structure in, but I don’t have to focus solely on it. Looking at my own needs has helped me to come to some important understandings, and I hope that you can too.
